Sport predictions Tim Connelly on the Gobert trade: If it doesn`t work out, blame me
Minnesota President Tim Connelly commented on the team`s poor early season performance following the high-profile acquisition of center Rudy Gobert last summer. We didn`t expect everything to work right away. We knew there would be difficulties. Rudy is fantastic. When all these guys are healthy, we need to figure out how to use them together in the most effective way. In this league, victories follow defeats. If we had three or four more wins right now, we would be much higher.
We`re not going to bury our heads in the sand and pretend everything is perfect. We never did that. Before making a deal, we discussed a lot and watched a lot of videos. I`m pretty optimistic about our team, which has great players.
We know that we have a good coach and good owners. If it doesn`t work out, blame it all on me. I am a grown boy. I have high hopes for this organization and for myself. After all these acquisitions, it will be difficult for us at times. We need to understand how we can help each other.
Chris Finch is a great coach. He and his staff did an excellent job of overcoming these difficulties. All our players are good guys who trained hard last summer and showed that they care. We are trying to reach a new level not only in matches, but also in daily work.
If this team does not achieve high results predicted by volleyball picks , the responsibility will fall solely on me, and not on other guys. My task is to make sure that we have created a good team. These are really great players. Excellent men and women work in our club. Was glad to meet them. I started to feel at home and understand what drives these people, " Connelly said.
